This movie was not perfect. I thought it was a bit too long. Batman talks too much. During one of the last scenes, I couldn’t hear what was said because the music was too loud. Two vilains in a movie is too much. Ledger is so unbelievably perfect as the Joker that I kept wanting to see more of him. Despite that, the movie is awesome. Go see it.
I must admit, I’m lucky, Most everywhere I work, there’s one or two stunning women. As a rule, anyone on the payroll is off limit, but I can always look, right? Sometimes they’re just not helping.
Exhibit A:
Stunning young woman walks into my office to ask me something, followed a few seconds later by another woman.
Second woman (to first woman): “My god, look how dark your legs are! That’s a nice tan!”
First woman (lifting her skirt higher) : “You think so? I like to spend a lot of time sunbathing in my bikini, but I have to use a lot of lotion to keep the skin smooth” (while running her hand up and down her calf as she is bending over)
Meanwhile my poor brain screams in its best Homeric voice “Think unsexy houghts! Think unsexy thoughts! Think unsexy thoughts! Think unsexy thoughts!”
July 13th edit: less than 12 hours after I posted this, someone landed on this page with a “beautiful women bending over” google search. I am amused.
Ten years ago today I remember driving to work, on the second day of what was to become Ice Storm ‘98, or “LE verglas”, in Quebec’s collective psyche. I was on the highway and there weren’t many people on the road on account of the many power outages in the area. I saw electrical pylons twisted and crushed under the weight of the ice and the 750kv power line had fallen across the road. I went over it and continued to the office. There was nobody there and no electricity. I waited half an hour and went back home. It was still raining and the ice was getting thicker everywhere.
When I got back home I watched the news and saw more power lines go down like rows of dominoes. Freezing rain came down on us for four days. Eventually the power went out. Luckily it lasted only three days.
Some areas were out of electricity for three weeks. I didn’t work for three weeks except for a few calls. It was hectic. The army trucks were roaming the streets and the town looked like a set from some disaster movie. The streets were covered in ice. Everywhere you could see electrical poles snapped in half like toothpicks. Driving at night was most eerie. No lights except for the car’s. Ten years. Time flies.
I have finally bought a digital camera. I caved in and got the Canon Digital Rebel EOS 400D. Now I am broke again. But it’s ok I can take pretty pictures now.
Also got the snow tires on and finally finished listening to my Mozart complete collection box set. It took almost a year.
I woke up feeling as if Mohamed Ali had decided to use me as a punching bag for part of the night.
I need to get the snow tires installed but really don’t feel like driving to Cowansville. Blah.
Ye be a pretty wench with beautiful round eyes behind those glasses of yours.
It is absolutely stunning out there. Snow’s been falling since about 4am, the roads are covered with ice, the temperature is just right. Woohoo winter!
Up until today my return to work was smooth. I was relaxed and did what I had to do without complaining.
At 4pm I was so fucking pissed the steam coming out of my ears could’ve powered a locomotive.
