Way to fuck up the Arthurian legend, BBC and NBC. Please stop messing with the classics to make them more palatable to angsty teens.

Sunday night, I tuned off my TV set and it stayed off 95 hours.

Last evening, I turned it  on at 8:00 pm to watch CSI. A few minutes into the episode, as woman was being hammered to death, I began questioning my motivations for watching this show.  Yet I kept on watching. The second hour was a crossover on “Without a Trace”.  At one point, a man was roughing up a woman in front of this little blond kid who was crying and screaming and beging him to stop.   I reached for the remote and turned off the TV.  That scene hit a little too close to home. The violence wasn’t cartoonish anymore.  It was real and I was seeing something that happens all too often every day in the world but I refused to watch anymore of it.

CSI used to be about science, puzzles and weird humour.  Lately it’s been heading in the direction of gore for the sake of gore.  Maybe it’s just me. The TV will stay off for a while.

I just saw a grown man and a 7 year old girl sing “All zippers down” together on tv. I am disturbed by this.

I’m home. Living in boxes for a few days still but i’m sleeping in MY bed tonight.

On another note, 24 sucked ass last night. I believe the term is “jumped the shark”.

I never had the chance to met him. All I ever saw were the excellent interviews and reports he did on hockey personalities. He will be missed.

I’ve had the set for a few weeks but only managed to make time to watch it in the last days. Set in Baltimore, the series follows the homicide unit team lead by Lt. Al Giardello (Yaphet Koto) as they go about the daily routine of criminal investigation. This isn’t about police car chases. Far from it. It’s about the cat and mouse game of interrogation, the frustration that comes from being unable to solve a crime, relations with the media and the community and, also, the fears and anxieties of the detectives of the unit.

I remember watching Homicide when it first aired. I had forgotten how good it was. I find myself glued to the TV. Strong characters, excellent scripts, superb acting. Quality the likes of which hasn’t been seen on the box since the show got cancelled. I have a feeling season 3 and 4 will soon be in my possession.
